TV Brasil broadcasts this Saturday, July 25, 2026, the first match of the Women's Basketball League (LBF) final between Sampaio Basquete and Unimed Campinas. The game starts at 10:45 AM at the Costa Rodrigues Gymnasium in São Luís and marks the beginning of the best-of-five series that will determine the season's champion.
Sampaio Basquete reached the final after defeating Cerrado BRB 61 to 46 in the third game of the semifinal, closing the series 2-1. With this result, the Maranhão team achieves its fifth consecutive LBF final and the eighth in its history, in addition to having secured home-court advantage for up to three games by having the best campaign in the initial phase.
Unimed Campinas Basquete secured its spot by defeating Sesi Basquete Araraquara 70 to 67 in the second game of the semifinal, ending the series 2-0. This will be the fourth time the two teams face each other in an LBF final.
In the history of these matchups, the São Paulo club took the title in 2018, while the São Luís team was champion in 2019 and 2022. The record shows balance, with alternating victories between the sides.
The competition follows the traditional format: quarterfinals and semifinals played in a best-of-three series, and the final in a best-of-five. The broadcast is part of the strategy of EBC, the manager of TV Brasil, to value women's sports, expand public access to competitions, and bring the audience closer to the sport.
