Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) announced, this Tuesday (28), the launch of the national call for entries for the first edition of the TV Brasil Petrobras Para Elas Award. The award, the result of a partnership between TV Brasil and Petrobras, aims to recognize female athletes, coaches, technical staff, managers, and clubs that stand out in Brazilian women's football throughout 2026.
The honor seeks to fill a historical gap in the national sports scene, being the first exclusive award entirely dedicated to the sport. The project intends to value not only technical performance on the field, but also good management practices, social responsibility, and the visibility of the sport's protagonists in the country.
According to Antonia Pellegrino, president of EBC, the initiative reinforces TV Brasil's commitment to the sport, which already has consistent coverage of championships and youth categories. The president highlights that the award seeks to build a legacy for the 2027 Women's World Cup, which will be hosted in Brazil.
The award process will feature different selection criteria. The 'Crowd's Favorite' (Craque da Torcida) category will be decided by popular vote starting in August, allowing fans to choose among 18 players (one representative from each Série A1 club). Meanwhile, the other categories, such as Best Player, Top Scorer, and Best Coach, will be determined by a technical jury composed of representatives from the 2026 Série A1 clubs.
In addition to sports highlights, the award includes the 'Women's Football Against Femicide' category, aimed at recognizing clubs that carry out actions to combat violence against women. Other distinctions include recognition for the best women's football department and the season's all-star team, composed of 11 athletes.
The award ceremony is scheduled for November 15, 2026, in São Paulo, with live broadcast on TV Brasil. The campaign, which uses the motto 'Celebrating those who make history in women's football', aims to strengthen the presence of the sport in Brazilian sports culture and bring athletes closer to the general public.
