The federal government announced the extension of the Desenrola Brasil 2.0 program until August 31. The measure, communicated by the Minister of Finance, Dario Durigan, this Tuesday (28), aims to offer an additional deadline for consumers to renegotiate bank debts and regularize their credit status.
The decision was made in conjunction with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and is expected to be formalized through an act of the Ministry of Finance by this Friday (31). According to the minister, the extension of the deadline allows citizens who have already started negotiations with banks to complete the processes of regularizing their debts.
The program's operating rules will not undergo changes. Minister Durigan highlighted that the extension will not require new public contributions to the Guarantee Fund for Operations (FGO), since the resources already allocated to the program are sufficient to meet the projected demand.
The regularization of financial arrears is seen as a fundamental step for access to credit. The minister emphasized that the measure directly benefits those who intend to take out loans, facilitating the entry of new contracts into the market.
Among the groups that can benefit from the extra time, the minister cited app drivers, taxi drivers, delivery workers, and truck drivers. For these professionals, paying off debts via Desenrola is essential so they can qualify for the conditions of programs like Move Brasil, aimed at vehicle replacement.
By maintaining current conditions, the government seeks to ensure that the population has a window of opportunity to clear their names and resume their capacity for consumption and investment in work tools.
