2026 World Cup: Brazil beats Japan Brazil is in the quarterfinals of the World Cup. The national team beat Japan 2-1, coming from behind, with the winning goal scored in stoppage time of the second half, in a tense and balanced match played at the Houston stadium. Also saying goodbye to the World Cup was Germany. After a 1-1 draw in normal time and extra time, the Germans were defeated by Paraguay in the penalty shootout and were eliminated. Another giant that fell in the round of 16 was the Netherlands. The Dutch team conceded a 1-1 equalizer in the final minutes of the match and was overcome by Morocco in the penalty shootout, ending their World Cup campaign.
