Sicoob Credisul brings financial education to more than 5 thousand students in RO

In Porto Velho, the initiative is carried out in partnership with the Municipal Secretariat of Education, Instituto Sicoob, and Central Sicoob Norte Public Relations Sicoob Credisul is expanding financial education actions in Porto Velho (RO) with the Financinhas nas Escolas Program. More than 5,4 thousand students from 14 schools in the municipal network are benefited by the initiative, which received an investment of R$ 24 thousand and includes the distribution of books from the Coleção Financinhas.

Developed by Instituto Sicoob, the Financinhas nas Escolas Program is aligned with Joint Resolution No. 8/2023, which guides financial institutions to promote financial education initiatives. The program also follows the guidelines of the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC), which establishes financial education as a transversal theme in Brazilian basic education.

The methodology includes training for teachers, supplementary materials, pedagogical monitoring, and periodic evaluations, integrating the content into the school environment and supporting the work developed in the classroom. In participating schools, financial education is taught using the Coleção Financinhas, composed of the books Caio achou uma moedinha, Margô e Davi foram ao mercadinho, Miguel, Aninha e Dedê ganharam um dinheirinho, and Marina esqueceu de desligar a televisão.

The materials cover themes such as budgeting, savings, investment, credit, and payment methods, in addition to encouraging reflections on responsibility, planning, and decision-making. In Porto Velho, the initiative is carried out in partnership with the Municipal Secretariat of Education, Instituto Sicoob, and Central Sicoob Norte, with the participation of the Nações Unidas, Carlos Gomes, and IG Shopping branches in the development of the activities.

Participating in the program are the schools Maria Francisca de Jesus Gonçalves; Joelma Rodrigues dos Santos; Rio Guaporé; Auta de Souza; Jesus de Nazaré; 12 of October; Miguel Ferreira; Som da Craviola; Cor de Jambo; Chapeuzinho Vermelho; Pingo de Gente; Voo da Juriti; Castanheira, and Bilíngue Porto Velho.
