Woman is arrested with jewelry stolen from a shopping mall store in Curitiba A woman was arrested in flagrante delicto on Tuesday night (23), in Colombo, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, hiding part of the jewelry that was stolen from a jewelry store at Shopping Crystal, in the capital of Paraná. According to the Military Police, the suspect hid the jewelry inside a pillow. Her name was not released. The robbery took place on Monday afternoon (22). Two criminals held a female employee hostage and took jewelry and money from the jewelry store. A third criminal helped with the getaway. As they left the mall, the criminals fired upward at least three times. Based on these images, police teams were able to retrace, point by point, the path they took after that. "As soon as the Fox was abandoned in downtown Curitiba, we were already able to identify a second vehicle that drove the individuals to a city in the metropolitan region," detailed Colonel João Alves, of the Military Police of Paraná (PMPR). Thus, the police teams identified the suspect. After being approached, she confessed that she had part of the jewelry. "She tells a very brief story. Only that she became aware of the situation, that the individuals went to her, gave her an amount of money to keep the jewelry, and that they would subsequently return to pick it up," explained the colonel. According to Camilo Turmina, owner of the jewelry store, a person contacted him stating they had found a bag full of jewelry. At the location, he confirmed that they were indeed the stolen pieces. "[She said:] 'I found a bag of jewelry and I saw the news and I know it belongs to the jewelry store. Could you send someone to pick it up?'. Part of the jewelry that was taken, that they removed from our safe, was returned. It's a blessing. Fortunately, that's it. [Thanks] to the entire Civil and Military Police, Municipal Guard, everyone involved in seeking a solution, in trying to find who committed this crime," Turmina stated.
