In her sentence, Judge Danuza Zorzi Andrade initially set the sentence at 16 years and 6 months in prison. The time was reduced to 13 years and 9 months due to the defendant's voluntary confession. With the recognition of privileged homicide by the jurors, the sentence was reduced by another third, reaching a total of 9 years and 2 months of imprisonment in a closed regime. The magistrate also ordered that Evandro remain in custody.
