Cresol turns 31 and consolidates sustainable expansion model

Cresol, a cooperative financial institution with over one million members, turns 31 on June 24, reaffirming the pillars that sustain its growth trajectory. Over the past few decades, Cresol has built a history based on proximity to its members and the delivery of financial solutions that drive local and regional development. This model has allowed the cooperative to maintain an average growth rate of 30% over the last seven years, the result of a structured expansion strategy guided by the balance between growth, security, and financial soundness. With responsible governance, long-term planning, equity strengthening, and an ongoing commitment to its members, the cooperative's anniversary represents a milestone of institutional maturity and highlights its ability to expand its business consistently, sustainably, and in alignment with the needs of the communities where it operates. "Reaching 31 years of age with consistent indicators and maintaining a sustainable growth trajectory is the result of work built over time, focusing on planning, responsibility, and the strengthening of our cooperative structure. Our growth doesn't happen by chance. It is the fruit of solid governance, the trust of our members, and a strategy that prioritizes the generation of value, meaning, and a sense of belonging for everyone involved," states Cledir Magri, president of Cresol Confederação. Expansion of credit access and record distribution of results Upon turning 31, Cresol remains one of the country's leading cooperative financial institutions, and its most recent results demonstrate this moment of consolidation. In 2026, the cooperative reached a historic milestone by distributing over R$ 480 million to members, between surplus shares and interest on share capital. This amount represents a 72% growth compared to the previous fiscal year, when R$ 279 million was distributed. Another indicator demonstrating Cresol's strength is its performance in expanding access to credit. In 2025, the cooperative ended the year as the largest operator of BNDES resources for individuals in Brazil, with over R$ 8.7 billion disbursed across more than 103,000 operations. Cooperativism recognized as a manifestation of Brazilian culture The celebration of the beginning of another decade for the cooperative takes place in the same month that Brazilian cooperativism was granted formal recognition in Brazilian legislation. On June 16, Law 15,433/2026 was published, recognizing the segment as a national cultural manifestation, reinforcing the importance of a model created through mutual aid, democratic participation, and collective development. The new law also reaffirms the State's role in supporting and encouraging cooperative activity, as provided for in article 174 of the Federal Constitution, which aims to determine the incentive and strengthening of the sector, integrating it as part of the national economic policy. "The formal recognition of cooperativism as a genuine part of our Brazilian culture is yet another encouragement, an impulse that makes us want to continue with this business model, which is so important for a more prosperous and sustainable future. We see with great joy that Cresol's 31 years have also helped cooperativism tread this path, and it is our commitment to continue working for the economic and social development of the country in the coming years," concludes Magri.
