Brazilian investigated for acting in a neo-Nazi group is arrested in Italy

According to information obtained by TV Globo, he had a preventive arrest warrant issued by the 7th Federal Court of Florianópolis (SC) since last year, after he was convicted of a double murder in Paraná and fled Brazil. In 2022, João Guilherme Correa had been arrested for being part of an interstate neo-Nazi cell in Santa Catarina. He was a personal trainer in Paraná and already had accusations for participation in a double homicide that victimized a couple in 2009, in the metropolitan region of Curitiba. At the time, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Catarina (MPSC) reported that the group acted with strong exaltation of fascist ideology and apology for Nazism. Arrest in Italy The arrest was made by Italian authorities after an Interpol alert. The man was the target of the organization's Red Notice, which has a database of police forces around the world and aims to locate and arrest internationally wanted persons. Delegate Umberto Ramos, who is in Rome, informed TV Globo that the man will remain in a prison in Milan awaiting extradition proceedings. The procedure can take from six months to a year.
