Driver dies after semi-truck hits train in Paraná A collision between a truck and a train caused a driver to be thrown out of the cabin. The accident happened this Tuesday afternoon (16), in the District of Pirapó, in Apucarana, in Northern Paraná.
According to the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), the driver did not survive his injuries and died at the scene. Until the last update of this report, he had not been identified.

Read the full note below: "The concessionaire deeply regrets the accident that occurred this Tuesday afternoon (16), around 12:20 PM, at a level crossing located in the District of Pirapó, in Apucarana (PR).
The collision occurred after the truck advanced onto the level crossing at the moment of the approach of the train composition, which passed through the location using the standard horn. The machinist was taken by surprise and there was not enough time to avoid the collision. The location where the accident occurred has regular railway signage, with vertical and horizontal devices intended to guide the safe crossing of vehicles and pedestrians. Concessionaire teams were immediately mobilized to provide support to the occurrence.
The Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) and the Fire Department were called to attend to the truck driver. The company reinforces the importance of respecting existing signage at level crossings and instructs drivers and pedestrians to always stop, look, and listen before crossing. As established by the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB), the right of way at these intersections belongs to the railway composition.
