He denied having sexually abused her and claims that the assassination was not premeditated. The man also stated that he convinced Iasmyn to accompany him to where the crime happened, saying he needed to pick up a portion of drugs. The suspect said he stayed at the scene for about 40 minutes after the crime and then left alone. "According to him, he left the victim at the scene of the facts dressed. He says he did not promote any type of act against the victim's sexual dignity and that there was a possibility of other people having frequented the place after his departure", explained the police chief. Dias informed that the police will try to gather new security camera images to retrace the itinerary traveled by the suspect and the victim before the crime. According to Elizani, the suspect frequented Iasmyn's house and she trusted him. The aunt states that it is a lie that her niece was allegedly setting an ambush for her friend. The aunt says that, on the night of the crime, Iasmyn received a message from her friend asking for her help to recover a motorcycle that he said had broken down. Soon after, she allegedly left home to help him, but did not return. "Whenever there is violence against a woman or a girl, people always ask: but what was she doing? Was she a drug user, was she a prostitute, was she on the street? We have to stop asking this type of question and start asking why men feel comfortable doing this to women's bodies every day", states Elizani. Iasmyn was a student and would have turned 15 on July 9. According to the police chief, witnesses reported hearing an argument in the region where the body was found. “There is information that the victim screamed for help and, subsequently, two vehicles left the scene.”, stated the police chief. Iasmyn was found dead on Sunday afternoon (14) in a wooded area near the intersection of Avenida Sabiá and Rua Sérgio Gasparetto, in the Portal da Foz neighborhood. The body was located by a resident, who called the Military Police. According to the Civil Police, the teenager had serious injuries to her head and face. “The victim had lesions on her face and head. Near the body, a piece of concrete with signs of blood was found, which indicates that she may have been hit by this object”, said Marcelo Pereira Dias. According to the Scientific Police, the cause of death was craniocerebral injury caused by blunt force.
