Como manter a constância nos treinos durante o inverno

With the arrival of lower temperatures, it is common to feel a reduction in willingness to perform physical activities. However, keeping moving is fundamental for health and body conditioning. To help you maintain your routine without compromising your safety, we have separated five essential guidelines to adapt your workouts to winter.

Tips to train safely in the cold

  • Body warm-up
Dedicate more time to dynamic warm-ups before starting the main part of the workout. This helps raise body temperature gradually, preparing joints and muscles for exertion and preventing injuries.
  • Joint mobility
Prioritize mobility exercises that involve large ranges of motion. This helps combat the muscle stiffness that cold can cause, improving movement fluidity.
  • Appropriate clothing
Use layers of clothing that allow perspiration, but protect against wind and moisture. This helps regulate body temperature, avoiding thermal shocks during the transition between exertion and rest.
  • Intensity and volume
If you feel a lot of difficulty due to the weather, consider slightly reducing the intensity or workout time, focusing on movement quality. This ensures the maintenance of the habit without causing excessive stress to the organism on intensely cold days.
  • Hydration and nutrition
Maintain fluid intake, even if you do not feel the same thirst as in summer, and pay attention to energy needs. Hydration is vital for metabolic functioning and muscle recovery, regardless of the outside temperature.

Note: Every body reacts differently to the weather. If you feel unusual discomfort, stop the activity and seek guidance from a physical education or health professional.
