Como manter a constância nos treinos durante o inverno

1. Dedicate more time to warming up

In the cold, the body needs extra care before starting any physical activity. Begin your workouts with mobility and joint activation movements while still in a protected environment. Exercises like torso rotations, bodyweight squats, and light jumping jacks help gradually raise body temperature, preparing muscles and joints for exertion and reducing the risk of injury.

2. Dress in layers

The choice of clothing is essential for thermal comfort. The recommendation is to dress in layers that can be removed as the body warms up. Prefer synthetic and technological fabrics that facilitate sweat evaporation, preventing moisture from staying in contact with the skin and causing rapid cooling after the activity ends.

3. Adapt workouts for indoor environments

On days when temperatures are very low or it's raining, prefer to do your activities indoors. Exercises like jump rope, stair climbing, functional bodyweight workouts, or using cardio equipment are excellent alternatives to maintain cardiovascular conditioning without needing to expose yourself to freezing winds.

4. Opt for dynamic and focused workouts

When motivation drops due to the weather, workouts structured in dynamic circuits can be great allies. Alternating exercises for different muscle groups with short rest intervals keeps the heart rate elevated and optimizes workout time, making it easier to maintain the habit even on shorter and colder days.

5. Take care of hydration and post-workout

The sensation of thirst tends to decrease in the winter, but hydration remains indispensable for the proper functioning of the body and muscle recovery. After finishing your exercises, do a gentle cool-down, change out of damp clothes into dry ones as soon as possible, and, if you like, consume a hot drink, like tea, to help restore body temperature comfortably.

Note: Before starting or modifying your physical activity routine, especially in adverse weather conditions, it is advisable to consult a physical education professional or a doctor to ensure exercise safety.
