5 estratégias para manter a constância nos treinos durante o inverno

1. Focus on the initial warm-up

On cold days, muscles and joints tend to be stiffer. Therefore, dedicating extra time to the warm-up is essential to prepare the body and prevent injuries. Start with gentle, joint movements indoors before increasing the intensity of physical exertion.

2. Dress in layers

The choice of clothing directly influences comfort and mobility. The practical recommendation is to use the layering strategy: wear a light piece that helps wick away sweat underneath, a thermal insulator on top, and, if necessary, a windbreaker jacket. This way, you can remove pieces as your body warms up during the activity.

3. Adapt your workout location

If the freezing wind discourages you from leaving the house, adapt your activities for indoor environments. Bodyweight exercises, indoor equipment, or functional circuits in the living room are excellent alternatives to maintain physical conditioning without exposing yourself to low outdoor temperatures.

4. Adjust intensity and listen to your body

Cold, dry air can place higher demands on the respiratory system. Pace your exercises and take recovery breaks whenever necessary. The ideal is to maintain moderate and consistent exertion, respecting your body's limits on days with more intense cold.

5. Plan shorter and more realistic sessions

A short, well-executed workout is better than skipping due to lack of motivation. Reducing session time on colder days helps overcome the mental barrier of getting started. Remember that regularity is more important for health and for maintaining the habit than the isolated duration of a single workout.

Safety note: Before starting or significantly altering your physical activity routine, it is recommended to consult a physical education professional or a doctor to ensure that the exercises are suitable for your individual health conditions.
