5 dicas de finanças pessoais para economizar no inverno

1. Control the use of electric showers and heaters

In the Brazilian winter, the electric shower is one of the biggest contributors to the increase in the electricity bill. To avoid surprises, try to monitor your shower time and, if possible, avoid using the maximum temperature for very long periods. The same applies to portable heaters, which should only be turned on in occupied rooms and turned off as soon as the environment is comfortable.

2. Plan your meals and avoid excessive delivery

Cold days often spark a desire for warmer and cozier meals, which can increase spending on delivery apps. An economical alternative is to prepare soups, broths, and hot drinks at home. In addition to yielding more portions, the cost of fresh ingredients at the supermarket is usually much lower than that of ready-made meals ordered via app.

3. Make seasonal purchases consciously

If you need to purchase coats, blankets, or heating appliances, avoid impulse buying during the first few days of cold weather, when demand and prices are high. Do detailed research at different establishments and, if you can wait, take advantage of mid-season or end-of-season sales to secure better conditions.

4. Prevent structural problems in the home

In several regions of the country, winter brings periods of rain or high humidity, which are conducive to the appearance of leaks and mold. Performing small preventive maintenance, such as cleaning gutters and checking the sealing of doors and windows, helps to avoid major damage that would require expensive and emergency repairs in the future.

5. Review subscriptions and leisure expenses

Since the tendency is to spend more time at home during the colder months, it is worth reviewing external leisure expenses and evaluating whether home entertainment services, such as streaming platforms, are suited to your actual usage. Take the opportunity to pause or cancel subscriptions you don't use, directing that difference to your financial reserve.
